I don’t know anyone in my lesson

My school recently selected about 30 people from top and bottom set, and I was selected from top set because they think I have ‘potential’ to get a 9 in a subject but I am falling behind in class. I am the ONLY person who got selected for my subject, and no one else in my school got this one. I’m super scared to go to the lessons because it’s with other schools, and I’m scared everyone will know at least 1 person and I won’t be able to talk to anyone. Obviously these lessons aren’t to socialise, but I was told there are pair and group activities, and it’s going to be so awkward. Should I just not go? I know it’s for my own benefit but I don’t want to make myself suffer for an hour and a half every week :frown:

I would go, you will automatically get pair with somebody and that could be your starting point. dont be put off from opportunities to delve into the unknown. Another thing that may help will be to talk to random people in real life whether in a shop or on the street, that should help with social anxiety
