XXX *actual* meaning
So people have been telling me xxx means porn but I've always used it as a sign of endearment previously and there was nothing wrong with that but everything just suddenly changed somehow? Like what I want to ask is how the hell have the once sweet and innocent xxx been turned into a symbol of something horrible? I really want to start using xxx (or even xxxxxx....) again and I hate having to type xx because it feels like it's not sending enough love or something... lol, weird I know. Anyway this is a weird post so I don't expect a lot of answers, if any. But if anyone could please clarify what the three xs actually mean I'd be massively grateful. Also sorry if typing those xs have accidentally offended anyone, in that respect I deeply apologise.
How many uk based adults have told you that three x's means porn? 
I've never heard this from anyone in Britain who is over 14 years old.
Three x's is a heavy sexual undertone and is a bit overdone from a date unless there's been a clear invite to hookup.
Best to use "xoxo" instead if you prefer to avoid xx.

If it's that much of a concern for whatever reason, use xoxoxo... (repeat ad nauseam) which has more or less the same meaning (I think technically whereas xx... on messages means "kisses" xoxo... means "hugs and kisses" but whatever).
Also as the history above shows this shift happened a long time ago. Granted I think the use of x's and o's predates the internet (telegram usage perhaps?) so in a sense maybe it was turned into a symbol of something else (granted whether that's "horrible" or not is in the eye of the beholder) but in any event this happened at least 50 years ago evidently.
Altogether this really seems like a non-issue anyway.
At the end of a text it just means three kisses. It's all about context.

I think its because if you say XXX very fast it kinda sounds like sex.
Idk really - but its everywhere in the red light district in Amsterdam and thats a place full of sexy time.
