How do exchange years/programmes work in Royal Holloway?

Hey there, I'm applying to RHUL this year as an undergraduate in Psychology, and would like to know what, or whether I need to do anything in preparation for a year abroad. I'd like to do a year in Japan in particular, preferably as an integral year so it counts toward my degree.

Would that be possible in the first place? I saw some info online that if I wanted to do a year abroad in Japan, I'd have to take a "XXX with a Placement Year" course, but there is no such option when it comes to psychology. And that came from a brochure from 2021, but I couldn't find anything else about my question. I'd appreciate any info on the matter. Cheers!
