Dodge Coronet?

Yup, according to a cetificate it is the only one to have been built with a 3-speed manual gear box (whatever that means) :s-smilie: He has loads of other old cars, he owns a wedding car business, but this one is my favourite

Nice and clean:

I like! Is that a W140 at the side too?

Thanks!

It is (was) indeed a w140 S600. But was sold a last week as it never got used much and mum didn't quite see the point in five cars between three people (Dad and I saw every point in it of course!)

Eugh! You definitely shouldn't buy that, it's monstrous. Somebody's taken a second generation Range Rover (P38a) then stuck Range Rover Sport alloys and side vents on it, as well as lights and grill from a third generation (L322) Range Rover. It's a frankenstein!

No, owned better cars than my parents ever have but I left school at 16 and worked as well as running my own business, now I've got back into education I've got the 520i and the MGB, currently looking for another 944 though.

No regrets but had I done differently I would have put my education first.

well i think its virtually impossible to get insured on some of those cars sub 21, yet alone sub 25 years old. i have a mate who was 23 and no insurance company would insure him on an old M3 so he couldnt buy one. and i cant even get insured on a MG TF 1.8 because im under 21. its not the money, its that they just wont let you do it.

You'll always find an insurance company who'll insure you on any car if you have the money - although you might have to go specialist. It's just that the 'main' insurance companies probably won't.

1978 MGB Roadster

Nice. I reccon '78 was the best year having owned two '78 GT's myself. I had a '76 GT for a while, but it was awful!

I was looking for a black GT when I bought my new one a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't find one though, sadly so settled for Inca yellow.

It might surprise some people on here, but I've never driven a Midget. What are they like compared to the B?

You are trying to say what?!

Of course you can get insured on an MG TF, I don't understand why that would a be a problem, if your mate couldn't get insured on an M3 he a. didn't know where to look b. had a horrendous driving record c. lived in a very high risk postcode or d. had a very high risk job.

They will 100% "let you do it". The AA did it for me thankyou very much.

The roadster was originally red! I like the Inca yellow but not Primrose, rather confused about this 6 speed GT 1.8 you've bought, surely it's 4 speed with o/d the same as my roadster? I know you can get the Sierra five speed conversions.

Midgets - they are great fun on the B Roads (small B Roads that is) a little sharper than a B, horrendous on the Motorway, very loud (louder than a B) and they tend to get blown about alot! Done a few trackdays in it, great on ones with more older cars, not so great when the rest are brand new BMWs, still lots and lots of fun!

yeah don't know what the other guy is on about, it just costs a lot. I got a quote from loads of places for a Z3 M Coupe, they were just around £5000............ I envy you!

4 gears with OD on third and top. 6 seperate gear ratios = 6 speeds.
Have you mastered the change from 3 O/D to direct top, yet? Flick the switch with your thumb as you pull the gear lever back into top gear.
