Placement in Uni

I want to go to Art university after college, however my ideal career is to be a tattoo artist. I've been told that in university you get placements to work in while studying as a part of your course, would I be able to work in the tattoo industry as a part of my placement in art university if I was studying fine art?

Lots of my students want to become tattoo artists. What i want to be able to tell them is "don't bother with a degree". Having a degree will give you literally no benefit in becoming a tattoo artist, all whilst accumulating thousands of pounds worth of debt. It would be much better to get a basic entry level job at a tattoo parlour, then work your way up.
