Law universities for 2025

I'm hoping to study law at university next year, however when researching unis I have a tendency to only look at russel group unis (as they're known for beiing good unis). I would like to prefer to some non-russell groups as well, but as there's so many of them I don't know where to start. Does anyone know any good unis for law?

This might not help much, but I've been looking into Bangor University in Wales currently as a Non- Russell group uni. ☺️ But from the University Guide Website, with a specialised degree in law it says the University of Strathclyde and Lancaster University in the top 25.

Hi there

I am a current final year law student at the University of Kent, although I may be biased, my experience studying law at Kent has been amazing, hopefully I can give you some insights into what it is like to study here:

At Kent, students are given a lot of support since entering law school. In first year I was assigned a student mentor and an academic advisor. We also have access to the law school’s skills hub which helps students to gain the necessary skills for achieving high grades in coursework and exams. The lecturers and seminar leaders are really friendly and approachable, and I always feel comfortable asking any questions that I do not understand. Outside of our lessons, we are also able to contact our lecturers, seminar leaders, and module conveners for help if we need it. The supportive learning system at Kent has this been really beneficial to my studies, and my experience with the course has so far been really positive. We are also given a lot of support outside of our study, for example: well-being support, career support, etc.

One reason that I chose Kent to study law, is because of its critical approach to teaching law. Not only do we learn about the statutes and case laws, we also explore concepts in detail by regarding its contexts. We often have the opportunity to adopt multiple lenses during the course, we explore topics from different perspectives such as historical, political, social, theoretical, etc. This has really built my understanding to the application of law in the real world. It also makes studying law more engaging and interesting.

I hope this helps, if you have any queries about studying Law at Kent I will be happy to answer them.
