They're probably common in the first year, have you checked the modules for years 2 & 3?

I always thought electrical engineering is more geared towards power supply, power flow etc. (okay i'm don't really know what i'm talking about..) and electronic engineering is geared more towards electronic devices and how they function?

yes, they are the same for each year thats why it seems weird. Is it possible you would have a different amount of hours for each module ?
Most fundamentally:

Electrical Engineering is concerned with the transmission/transfer/use of energy.
Electronic Engineering is concerned with the transmission/transfer/use of information (ideally using 0 energy).

Electrical & Electronic Engineering is then clearly a broader degree, whilst Electronic Engineering is more specialist. Usually the first two years are common.

thank you :smile: yeah i knew the differences between the two courses, its just that nowdays electronic and electrical is often the same (the courses) and electronics course offers electrical stuff as well.
