Student Life in Southampton

Southampton is a modern, vibrant city and Solent University is right in the heart of it. From the hustle and bustle of the city centre to the laid back vibes of the waterfront at Ocean Village, you'll find plenty to do in this thriving student city. You'll find everything you need in Southampton, from top high street brands, to arts and culture, beautiful parks, numerous places to eat, and a buzzing nightlife. The city centre campus has plenty to offer with eateries, the Students' Union, health and fitness facilities, and library, IT and study areas; not to mention our state-of-the-art facilities, including television studios and sport science laboratories, that are so popular with current and prospective students.

The main campus is situated a 5 minute walk away from the city centre with Southampton Central station roughly 15 minutes away on foot. There are seven different companies operating bus services in and around Southampton. Additionally, there is also a free shuttlebus service around the university campus during weekdays after 6pm.
