Student Life in Cranfield
Cranfield is at the centre of two very beautiful and interesting worlds; the modern city of Milton Keynes and the country town of Bedford. Both options are just a few miles away from campus and are accessible by car, or by public transport.
On campus, there is a true sense of community, helping you to forge friendships during your studies and leisure time, in a safe and peaceful environment. Whatever your recreational, social or sporting interests, there are many opportunities to make friends and have a great time.
Green Spaces - on campus you will find plenty of open spaces to relax, rejuvenate and simply enjoy. The open spaces are great for taking a break or for use as an alternative study area during the summer.
Hartleys Bar (within the CMDC) - offering a relaxed and welcoming environment , hosting regular events, including karaoke nights, live music, and themed evenings.
Eating - We have a number of cafés and restaurants, which serve everything from ice-creams, coffees, and international snacks to hot meals. Located in front of Cranberries, our Costa Coffee outlet provides freshly brewed tea and coffee, along with a variety of cakes, pastries and light snacks. We also have a regular street food area offering a variety of different world foods for you to experience.
Gym - enjoy our well-equipped fitness centre which is split between a free weights room, a functional training room and a general purpose gym with a range of resistance and cardiovascular machines.
Outdoor Sports Facility - grassed, multi-use playing field features full-size football, rugby and cricket pitches and is also ideal for training, while our multi-use games area features two floodlit, fully-fenced, five-a-side pitches with synthetic artificial turf.
Relaxation and Therapy - A range of therapeutic and professional services are offered by external companies operating at our Cranfield sports centre.
Worship - We have an ecumenical chapel where Christian groups can meet and Roman Catholic mass is celebrated, a Mosque for daily and Friday prayer, Qur’an study, Eid and Ramadan observations, and close links with other local places of worship.
Bringing a Family to Cranfield - To keep children entertained the Cranfield Students Association regularly organises a comprehensive programme of fun and engaging activities including parties, games and events throughout the year. Travel Information
Situated close to Milton Keynes and Bedford, the Cranfield campus is situated in Wharley End, very close to Cranfield village, and is about 10 minutes from the M1 motorway. There is rail and road access to most major airports, as well as coach and train stations. Rail Travel: From London St Pancras to Bedford - a bus service is available from Bedford to Cranfield University. From London Euston to Milton Keynes Central - frequent, fast services. A bus service is available from Milton Keynes station to Cranfield University. Bus Travel: Please note that different companies refer to the University in different ways. The main bus stop is named either as 'Cranfield University' or 'Wharley End (Cranfield), Cranfield University main gate'. Buses to and from Bedford Cranfield Connect - Route C1 Buses to and from Milton Keynes Cranfield Connect - Route C1 Cranfield Express - Route CX Car Share: We run a car share scheme through the Liftshare website. Since its introduction, over 200 individuals have signed up to the scheme and over 80 car share groups have been formally registered at Cranfield. The Management MSc will equip you with the knowledge and practical skills you need to tackle complex business challenges and to prepare you for demanding managerial roles in the future. Forensic Archaeology and Anthropology MSc
The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of how traditional and advanced techniques from archaeology and physical anthropology can be applied in the forensic context.
The course offers a wide range of different experiences with unique facilities available to no other university in the UK. The course is highly practical and hands-on, aiming to produce forensic experts with a strong background to later enter the field and be capable of giving expert witness testimonies in a courtroom situation and elsewhere.
Students have access to our purpose-built outdoor research facility - the Forensic Fieldwork Facility one of only two in the country. The facility has been specifically designed to enable research into animal decomposition, taphonomy, search, location and excavation of buried remains.
Advanced Mechanical Engineering MSc

It provides a solid grounding in finance and management principles, rigorous training in relevant tools and techniques, and demonstrates how to apply them practically in the global workplace.
