Were you expecting it? A female to male ratio of 5 to 1, and unlimited alcohol from an illegal and free source? life is what you make it and all, but not even Part schools will ever match up to a fictional teen romp ^^ sorry.
No just 1:1 ratio for female to male, Alchahol is not that expensive as your hyping it up to me... Just a good campus life i was expecting with loads of fun, just disappointing with going out here, but now i am gonna make sure to change this place.
Things do seem to have changed recently. In my first year, before I changed courses so first time at uni, it was kinda like the typical movie thing. I was going to random house parties 4 nights a week or more, ended up in bizzare places including random parties at squats (I still have no idea how I ended up at one alone, realising after I while I new nobody there and wasn't even sure where the place was ). The library was rarely heavily used outside of exam times and the bar was packed all day socialising and all night with meeting with regular people for a good time - and I am not talking about being wrecked it was a nice place to be and ony a few got properly drunk.
Now the library is full all night and packed throughout the day, house parties are almost non existent and the bar is empty. The local student places are no fun anymore with no deals or interesting people around. The only time people do go out is to get horrifically wrecked once or twice a week and become absolute low lifes in the process. Something really does seem to have changed with the next generation of uni students - and certainly not for the better in terms of fun and socialising (they aren't even performing better according to some lecturers I know so wtf?).

Where do you go? Notts is almost 3:1 girls to guys haha. But seriously - it's like Americans coming here and asking why it isn't like Skins
Coming up to the end of the year - it gets a bit more serious. There's probably a lot of folk yet to break the back of their dissertations.
Life is all about balance. I could go out and play with my classic cars all week if I wanted, but I wouldn't earn any money to pay the bills!
It is possible to have a laugh at uni and get a degree. Although, in my last year at uni, the social life dropped down to having a beer with my best mate on a friday at the local.
Depends where you study but it seems courses based around animals have a fair bias towards females. I have most modules with two different courses, both are based around animals (Animal Biology, Zoology.). The former has the most female to male bias, I'd say probably 5:1. Zoology..probably 2:1? Then because the campus also does a couple of equine courses and riding schools, that's pretty much entirely female. So all in all the female to male bias is pretty darn noticeable.
You're there to study not to cause havoc... It's a movie! We don't pay god-knows-how-much a year to have giant house parties (when most students live in a dinky room anyway) and plus we don't have sororities so of course it isn't going to be like American Pie... Lol
haha is LSE that bad? (starting econ there come oct!)
It's not bad at all, but it definitely isn't a year-round reenactment of American Pie...
Uni social life is really what you make of it, as long as you find a like-minded crowd to go out with you shouldn't have any trouble enjoying yourself. And with the diversity of students uni has to offer, finding people who share your interests is never a problem. There is also no shortage of going out venues in central London.

What uni? If it's in a big city other than London, I'm surprised.
I find it hilarious that the OP, whilst asserting that he is a university student, manages to contradict himself between his title and his following text....
Well tbh, uni is probably like American Pie if you attend a poly.
It really isn't. Depending on the subject, especially for essay subjects, from what I've seen, it's similar. The people at the more traditional unis are just able to revise harder when it matters, that's all.
