I got an email from surrey saying I've been invited to an applicant day and to check my portal to book one

I think that just means they want you to go there to look at the place basically, I don't think it means anything regarding getting an offer or not. I was offered to go to an Electrical Engineering applicant day but couldn't attend, still waiting for a reply regarding the application.

Pretty sure it's neither of those, and that they just want you to go there and see the place in order for you to make an informed decision, were you to get a place.
