Feminism and Meninism

Honestly, if meninism was a serious movement that actually wanted to promote and support equal rights for men, then accounts such as @MeninistTweet wouldn't exist. This account constantly criticizes feminism, yet also constantly posts tweets that include and encourage spousal abuse, slut shaming, rape culture glorification etc.

Meninism could be a movement that means something, but small minded bigots have prevented it from being anything but a parody account that promotes inequality if anything.

The only real problem with feminism is the name, which makes it sounds like it doesn't support equality. Which it does.

I'm sure some self-proclaimed feminists actually betray the meaning of the word by not aiming for equality. But the again there are bands if Buddhists roaming parts of Asia slaughtering men, women and children.

Every subgroup of a population has its villains. Only an idiot would ignore this fact and use it to define the entire group.

What you're talking about is 'white feminism'. This is when (usually white) feminists only care about things that affect them and help them, whilst also actually promoting a sort of inequality.

Intersectional feminists are the ones who address all issues, including male issues such as inequality when filing for custody in a divorce, gender roles (not telling masculine men to not be masculine, but instead telling non masculine men that it's okay not to be masculine) etc.
They also promote and raise awareness for People of Colour, LGBT rights etc.
Intersectional feminism is basically 'good' feminism if you want to put it like that. It's the thing that feminism is meant to be, but has generally been warped by privileged white people wanting more of what they already have.

Intersectional feminism. Supports equal rights for everyone, regardless of your social, religious, cultural background or your sex. They are few and far, but they're what feminism is meant to be.

Usually these days you see white feminists on social media promoting things that serve to help them, whilst silencing other problems such as inequality men face, or people of colour's problems.

how does "rights of everybody" have anything to do with feminism which concerns itself with gender? are you talking about egalitarianism or feminism? don't tell me they're the same things because they're not - even if feminism *was* about equality which it isn't any more, it isn't the same broad concept as egalitarianism

...you can't be racist against white people...

Also you put the quotation marks in the wrong place. It's "white feminists" not white "feminists". I didn't make the name for it, but it's not being racist against white people because not every white 'feminist' is a 'white feminist'.

It's just that people who are 'white feminists' (white! not white! anyone!) don't promote complete equality like intersectional feminists do.

if you had said that "feminism" benefits everybody because everybody is a man or woman, and it (claimed) fights for gender equality for both genders, then that would make made sense. but "feminism" doesn't advance anybody else other than women in and of itself in an objective sense. you can be a feminist and many other kinds of egalitarian, but feminist is a specific one based on gender by definition. that's probably why you are trying to make "intersectional feminism" a thing - how does adding "intersectional" change the meaning of the word "feminism" on the end?
