I've lost motivation!

Please help, I don't know what to do! My Easter revision has gone downhill.

It feels like every day I have the same problem: I make a study plan, waste a few hours, and before I know it, most of the days gone! I keep having to study until 1am/2am and I hate it!

Last week I didn't have this problem. I would easily reach my target of 6 hours every day and I don't understand where the motivation has gone. I'm one of those weird people who kinda likes studying and I always feel good after a doing a lot of revision but the past few days I've hated studying and dread it.

If anyone has any tips on how to stop doing this I would appreciate it so much!!

I'm sure you'll be able to start studying enough, but it's reassuring to know that other people feel the same way! I've been given so much work over Easter and over 2 weeks so far I've literally done barely any of it :s-smilie: Are you doing A levels? Good luck with your Easter revision!

Lol I'm sure it's going to be fine! We've still got some time until exams so don't put too much pressure on yourself :h: have you not got much work done over your holidays so far?

Don't worry too much, you should be fine with GCSEs, I spent the majority of my time doing the subjects I enjoyed and neglecting the ones I didn't enjoy at GCSE tbh! As long as you can get a bit of studying done over Easter you should be fine :h:
i know your struggle!! but if youre anything like me, and it has to do with your phone etc, download an app called ''forest: stay focused'' you grow a forest and a tree grows every hour or so - if you go on your phone the tree dies. You can record your growing forest over the days and compete with friends on who has the biggest forest growing. its about £1.50 but id pay it if it means me revising more!! sorry if this doesnt apply to you but i really hope it does, i only found it today!

( I did ASDA for a year after doing sod all for my A levels...... very sobering experience)

Just to make some of you feel a little better, I have done 0 revision this easter. I have been working 5 days a week and exams start in just over a month. Two of my teachers have left in the past month and my colleges lack of motivation and I guess faith in us has left us with teachers who do not specialise in the subjects. I need AAB to get into my University and currently the chances of that seem very unlikely. On the plus side I will START my revision tomorrow after work.

Maybe you should think about starting now then. What do you think has stopped you from doing any studying so far?

prioritising stupid things/people instead of revising.

I'm sure you can do it!! A lot of people get all their work done cramming in the last few months so there is still time for you :h: I'm sure that if you start now then you'll be able to manage your offer. Good luck, I hope you get your grades!

I think Lidl is probably my best option, ASDA is probably a bit of a stretch

Did you not end up going to uni? If not then I'm sure you'll still do amazingly! Only one person in my family has gone to uni so far but they mostly pretty have good jobs and are in jobs that are for uni graduates!

Well don't worry, it's not too late to start now! It's good that you're aware of what's holding you back so that you can make some changes if you want to study more. Good luck with your revision!:h:
This may sound like madness, but don't be so hard on yourself. If you have been consistently hitting your target, then you may have worn yourself out, if you continue to struggle I would suggest taking a full day off and doing something you really enjoy. But know yourself, if you won't be able to switch off and actually enjoy your day off, don't bother its a waste of time. If thats the case its best to just ease up but plough threw until you start getting back into. Some days are just off days!

I know the feeling... I had a whole week of getting nothing done on my dissertation. Its due in a couple of weeks!

I tried a similar app that I found for free but didn't end up using it very much. I might give the forest app a try though, the £1.50 might motivate me to use it more  thank you so much, I really appreciate your help!!
