Surely for the last question it gave us the probability that X=2 and that was less than 5%?

It's the probability of X< or =2 which was 0.0530

Graphical calculator says 4 for IQR so I say 4

I got the IQR wrong and got 3 :frown:

We're going through the paper with our teacher. 3.6 is the IQR

For question 5) could you have worked out P(R and S) by doing P(R) X P(S) ?

P(r n s) = p(r) + p(s) - p(r u s)

I got 4 for the iqr but not sure method was right, added the 5th and 6th term then divided by 2 to get 27.8. Added the 15th and the 16th then divided by 2 to get 31.8 so the iqr is 4. Is that right method for working out 5.25th term and 15.75th term? Only question that I'm slightly worried about

This gives you the 5.5th and 15.5th term, which looks to be correct. Think you may have accidentally done it correctly, with correct method too

Think it was only 1 mark

Oh phew- thank you so much for your help!

For question 5) could you have worked out P(R and S) by doing P(R) X P(S) ?

P(RuS)=P(R)+P(S)-P(RnS)
Use the formula above, which is given in the formula book.

Yeah that's why I'm confused do you work out the 5.5th term or 5.25th because q1 is 21/4 which is 5.25

is it me or was the histogram very difficult to draw because of the scales they gave you? mine was very cramped

Exactly ! I ran out of time because I spent 15 mins drawing and erasing hfff

Pretty sure I got half of the questions wrong I got like 3.6 for IQR oops
What did everyone get for the question where it said why can't you carry out the hypothesis test with 20 samples? I something like because there is no value of P(X< which can be lower than the significance level at the lower end of the distribution,

what did everyone get for the question what % of shoes are less than £100
i got like 16.1% for the first percentage then like 20 something % for the other

I thought it was the percentage which were more than £100, anyways I got 15.7 then 20.2

2i) was 0.8^3 so 0.512

Surely the probability that they don't lose in any of the 3 is 1 minus the probability that they lose all three so 1-0.2^3
i got 4.3 for IQR?
for question 2 iii) did anyone do 1- 0.16 = 0.84
