B in French (GCSE)?

I was thinking of doing Arabic and Politics at uni and I got all excited when I didn't require any past knowledge of Arabic, I'm predicted to meet/exceed the entry requirements, and I've done a lot in terms of political history of the middle east - I'm also currently learning the Arabic alphabet...

However, I then crashed and burned when i looked at the minimum entry requirements, stating that I need an A at a language other than English at GCSE, but I only have a B in French.

Does this mean, that I therefore can't do Arabic and Politics after all?

EDIT: Should I contact the admissions of the university and ask if they'd prefer me to take a language AS or if they suggest something else?

I suppose there is potential for them to let you in on a contract. Perhaps this year you could just work on another language and aim for an A in that in the meantime.
