Does anyone know whether the NHS is only interested in direct qualifications in a specialist area, like Biochemistry would only consider those with a degree or MSc in Clinical Biochemistry? I have a mixture of Micro and Biomed from my undergrad and postgrad qualifications so I'm not a straight fit for any one department, but have experience in most.
Looking to apply for cardiac science this year, can anyone give me guidance and help on the application process. I am currently doing a BSc in Human physiology.

hi all,

Im doing a degree with the open university (BSc Health sciences). Im trying to work hard to get honors and after my degree i would like to maybe specialise in genetics or blood sciences.

Will i have a chance because my degree with open university and distant learning?

As long as your degree is relevant to the specialism you are applying for, an OU degree will be treated the same as that from a brick uni (speaking as someone a on the Medical Physics STP with a physics degree from the OU and knowing of one other with a place on the scheme). Make sure you tick as many other boxes as you can, organise some work experience/hospital visits etc if you can.
What CDorset said - I'm the friend who also got accepted with an OU degree  good luck!

Thanks for your response and well done for achieving that! Its my first year of degree and i'm currently studying my OU degree abroad. Its kind of hard to get experience bc of the language barrier. But the compound i'm living on has a British school and i could do some volunteering with the school nurse, would that be relevant experience especially as it is volunteering work abroad?

Thanks
Hello Everyone!

Just wondering if anyone could advise me if in application they are asking about A-levels as well? I have graduated in Poland so my education route was slightly different than UK graduates.
I know I meet entry requirements (BSc with honours and MSc, compared by NARIC), but I am not sure if they need anything else concerning education level? It is not that easy to compare A-levels and Matura Exam (polish) and as far as I know NARIC offer only 'general comparison' - without comparing grades.

Should I worry about that or is it irrelevant?
Hi, this is a question for past applications. Once you had your interviews, did you get a decision the date they told you or was it earlier? Had my interview 2 weeks ago and thinking waiting another 3 weeks for my outcome is so far away :frown:
