Coventry is a bit scary, yes. Leamington Spa is nice :coma:

plus York has you, immediate thumbs down :nn:

I was considering applying for Warwick, but it's a little too far for me, plus York is a lot like a bigger version of my hometown.

That was probably Mart's longest and most helpful, if not only helpful, post.

Yet it was only really helpful to one person on this whole forum...

All those abbreviations look scary :teeth: I'm definitely looking forward to it though - I just have to do lots of pre-reading.

I actually never took Physics, but I did circuits in GCSE (I know :emo: ), and they seem reasonable enough. But hopefully my Further Maths should benefit - especially Decision Maths and all the various algorithms.

As long as the lecturers properly explain everything, then I don't mind how tough it is.

Lolz the acronyms aren't scary (http://www.cs.york.ac.uk/undergraduate/CS_SoftwareEngineeringG460.htm look at 1st year), it lists all of them in full, but whe you get there everyone will call them by there acronyms.

As for circuits, its really not going to be anything like what you are imagining. Its all about using AND, OR and NOT gates (and there varients) to fulfil the task given to you. The notes are ok, the lecturer is terrible, and the practicals are woeful. You will do a lot of this: http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_4/chpt_11/2.html asynchronous JK flip flop counters :gah:

You don't need to do any prereading though. You genuinely can arrive knowing nothing and still do well - that's what the introductory courses are for. Although obviously you do need a solid maths background, because the ICM module isn't anything to do with A level maths - its all set theory, propositional logic, and all that jazz.

I went to Nottingham on an open day and utterly despised the medical school.

The Chemistry department was very cool though. :yy:

Where is everyone today :frown:
Lurking in anticipation of Ryan Shawcross' arrival
The obsession with Ryan Shawcross really is verging on unhealthy...
I don't think GM will be on today
Still not had that name change Stu Laboratory? :teehee:
