What grades do aeronautical engineering at imperial require?

Imperial state on their site ( http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/ugprospectus/facultiesanddepartments/aeronautics/entryrequirements ) that for aeronautical engineering the requirements are:
Our normal requirement for both courses is for three subjects to be passed at A level, or for two at A level and two at AS level. One A level pass must be in physics and another in a mathematics subject—pure mathematics or mathematics (pure and applied) but not statistics. We do not specify the third A level, which can be in any subject except general studies, but further mathematics is strongly encouraged.

surely this doesnt mean imperial will accept someone with 3 C AS grades?

Well lets say you got As for the sake of notation. You can either have:

AAA or AAaa

So 3Cs at AS wouldn't suffice anyway. However, I think they are here only discussing subject combinations rather than grades. I do not believe that Imperial make a CCC offer. However, I will move this to the Imperial forum.

You're probably going to need A*AA wit A* maths
It will be AAA at least, most probably A*AA for 2010 entry. There was a thread about this made a while ago with the same issue, their requirement for that course is really ambiguous.
