For that you only need legal profession, jury, judges, magistrates.

Crap, and I only even learned the last three.

wat topics r ppl leaving out, like rn't revising? i was told that i could leave out one topic in each module if i dont have enough time (i dont, i only started revisin yesterday)... so in the sources of law paper (judicial precedent, statutory interpretation etc) i'm leavin out EU law. wat one should i leave out on the machinery of justice (i think thats module 1) - police powers, criminal courts (pre-trial matters, bail, appeals etc), civil courts, Alternative methods of dispute resolution, sentence types or sentence aims?

Im leaving out the civil courts and alternative methods of dispute resolution as there is normally only 1 question on either or and the rest are on the more criminla side. Dont forget to learn the new aims of sentencing not the old ones.

You should be ok without legal profession... but it's easier then judges.

u know for the civil courts, have u left out the appeal routes as well? its quite a big topic, i was thinkin of leaving that out too.

umm... new aims of sentencing? my teacher didn't mention nething bout there being different ones. r these the right ones:
retribution
deterrence
rehabilitation
denunciation
incapacitation
reparation

I have it aswell tomorrow morning and have been revising most of the day.

For Module 1 i have revised Precedent and Interpretation. I am really hoping these 2 come up because i know them both inide out but Precedent has been ever present in every exam for the last few years so surely its about time it got left out, but hopefully not this year.

Module 2 i am revising ADR, The Legal Profession, Magistrates and Juries. I hope that ADR and the Legal Profession are both included.

My revision for Module 3 has been very limited, i find it interesting but i believe its the hardest exams of the 3 and if i have to i will retake it next year.

I still need advice on which other subject to revise for Module 1 because i hate EU. So im going to opt for either Staute Creation or Delegated Legislation although my notes on DL are terrible.
Does anyone know where i can find good notes on DL?

I hope a good question on precedent and EU comes up, only module 1 topics I know!

Module 3 is the easiest.

It's real law... it's fun.

:dito:

I was a bit worried when someone said it was the hardest, because I found it enjoyable to revise for and interesting.
This is the only exam I am feeling confident in!
Done my 2 other modules for law in January
Still the A2 Law modules to do next week

I just typed up my own notes for DL, from what we had in class. It may not be too in-detail, but I'm hoping that now I've learned them inside out it'll be enough.

Actually, might as well put it here, I'll never use it again.

Well, this is what I would write for how to become a legal executive.

- They can begin after GCSE's, though usually they start after A-levels.
- They "learn as they earn" unlike solicitors or barristers.
- They do routine work in a legal environment.

- Their first exam is the "Professional Dipolma in Law"
- This teaches the general principles of law and takes 2 years to complete.
- They're tested by examination or portfolio demonstrating pratical experience.

- Next is the "Professional higher diploma"
- Also takes 2 years
- Specialise in 3 areas of law and one on procedure

- On completing on there, and at least 2 years of 'qualifying employent' you can be allowed membering to the Institute of Legal Executives.

- Many see this as a good job in itself, but some use it as a stepping stone to becoming a solicitor without the initial financial burden, as obtaining a degree isn't necessary if you do this.

You might wanna know their work too, that's shorter.

I know, and I am pleased with it, but I think I can potentially get 90, which would make A2's much easier.

Basically I've revised just a few topics. If they're up, I get 90, if they don't... I still have an A.
y do i have this horrible feeling that i'm gonna fail this exam? i am neva eva gonna do last minute revision again! how do u guys revise? i dont think my method is working...

I have the same feeling.

Well, just fecked that up beyond belief.

How much did you write for most questions? Because I did nowhere near enough.
Reply 38
Well i have never sat a Law exam before but the questions i chose didnt seem to want much detail. I did the Statutory Interpretation question and it said 'Briefly describe three judicial approaches to interpreting a statute'
Something to that affect anyway. So because of the bold three i didnt right about intrinsic or extrinsic aids or even language rules. Just wrote about Golden, Mischief and Literal with case examples.
