You will have never had so much free time in your life and it's too easy to start treating university as a holiday camp doing pretty much nothing all the time. Once you start doing this you might start missing lectures or developing a really bad attitude to work. Try and make your day more structured or you will just do nothing.
Sleep BEFORE lectures or AFTER lectures. Sleep DURING if you must (at least you were there!), but certainly don't skip the lectures for sleep because it will become a habit and nobody will even help you catch up as they'll brand you as efckn lazy. Except for maybe in year 1 (and it largely depends on your faculty) NOBODY will chase you up for not attending. And they ain't gonna call your mummy and daddy to tell on you either. You're your own authority at uni so don't fall into a trap of doing nothing just because there is nobody around to chastise you for it. Know what you went to uni for, and then decide if it's a good idea to take a week off just cause you wanna go overseas for a booze trip (just an example of what some people I know have done!).

Whatever you do, make sure you know your direction in life(where you want to be in 5 years time...uni is just a stepping stone to get there). If possible have one set goal that you must achieve at the end of uni...honestly loads and loads of people think its ok just to pass their exams at 40% and its not....excel yourself, once you have a goal e.g. getting a first then you can work your utmost best to achieve it.

Good luck and remember we're all in the same boat!

1)Organise yourself, do your photocopying, and past paper and article printing in the first week, that way you're not stressing the week of exams, or trying to find books that can't be got in the library.

2) Take on as many extra curricular activities that you enjoy as you can, but always know where to draw the line and when to go home early to do some work.

The most important lesson I can give:

If working in a group

Lol. Group work can be, let's just say, challenging, especially when others don't put their work in.
