Is the city nice, what sort of stuff is on the campus, how does the campus compare to, for example, warwick which has cinema, supermarket, etc.?
I'm not to bothered by night-life, and that seems to be the only gripe some people have with york.

I'm interested in York Uni but have not had the chance to go to an open day. Could people tell me about it?

there's one in a few weeks :yep:

you going? :P

edit: ah damn, its before we even get there! suppose they don't want drunk freshers rambling around campus giving a bad impression hehe
York is amazing, the campus is really nice, with lots of hidden secrets and bits to explore. Lots of the accommodation is new and high quality, (Alcuin college ftw)! There is a student cinema that is set up in one of the lecture theatres and they get loads of good new films in each term and show some of the old classics as well  There are also loads of societies and sports clubs to get involved in, some of the weirdest things I've ever seen and heard of take place in societies. There is a costcutter on campus which is a decent size but can be expensive. Somerfield is quite near though  Also Aldi and Iceland. The city is gorgeous with all it's old buildings and churches and the walls! I think the campus has a really friendly feel to it as well, as does the city in general. I've such a fab time living in York and being at the uni and I'd recommend it to anyone
sounds good, also, can I verify that there is a frisbee club?

the fully booked thing didn't apply to another of the other unis, so I don't think it'll be any different for York. Unless you want to go to some of the specialist talks I guess.

It's on a Wednesday I think, "study day", ha  I might go, but then the course I'm applying for is really competitive to get into, so I don't want to go and end up loving it :o:

Wow, that looks pretty harsh, but looks can be deceiving. Do you know the applicants to offers ratio? Because it's likely that they give out many more offers than places

And yeah, it's good. The city is lovely, campus is a bit concrety though, but what can you expect from a 60's uni? i've not actually started so i can't really give any major details :P

nah, I haven't seen anything. They're rather mysterious on the website/prospectus. Silly York. Here's to hoping though!
I really should go for a look around, argh, I'm very disorganised with uni stuff.

Good luck for when you do start though, hope you really enjoy it
York is lovely :'(

Seriously - best city IN THE WHOLE WORLDS
