I'm doing International Relations, and then Germany for the option.
I'm not totally ready for it, are you?

Yep I am. I dont really need to revise (not to sound arrogant) but ive been revising this since september xD so I know everything inside out lol. I know more than my teacher at times.

According to my teacher the first source will be on either league of nations or treaty of versailles- with treaty of versailles as the one thats most likely to come up.

Thats the source where the main message of the cartoon is that America holds the keystone to the success of the league right?

Yeah - Uncle Sam is sitting down smoking a cigar, and the key stone is next to him. The idea is that the British see America as the thing that will keep the League working succesfully, as they have the armed forces whereas Britain and France were virtually destroyed during WW1, and the US wasn't as badly damaged. So, the source is saying that the US is seen as lazy, or not willing, to join and help in the League which was created by Wilson, although the US senate refused to join the League due to the policy of 'isolationism'

I have a feeling this cartoon: http://amhist.ist.unomaha.edu/module_files/Versailles.jpg will come up for the first question.
Although my teacher thought it might be this one:

Could any lovely person explain the messages of these cartoons? I'm usually reasonably good at working them out but I lack ideas for them both :frown:

It is a pretty tricky cartoon, I'm guessing the guy on the left is Lloyd George, and it's (not quite sure how) commenting on how un-fair the treaty was towards Germany.
Or maybe how, because of the harshness of the treaty, there would be another war later on, because Germany would seek revenge.
It would help if we knew when these cartoons were created too...
have you seen the cartoon which shows clemenceau as a vampire. well my teacher seems to think that would be on. i hope so :P
