do we need to take a BIN, manor hall people? ive completely forgotten and cant be botehred to check my handbook.

Ahh...poor little car.... ok not much sympathy because you HAVE a car, lucky you!!
I don't know about the bin - I haven't got one, and when I mentioned it to my mum she said "there are shops down in bristol" i.e. buy your own! A plastic bag will work for a few days, that's my theory.
Oh, and lugging luggage up the stairs. I think there's a lift that we can use on the first day. I think there's some rule like a porter has to be present to use it. So hopefully we can use it, 'coz I'm on the 5th floor and have way too much stuff to drag up.

Have no fear about being the earliest person arriving, for that will be ME! And there's nothing I can do about it unfortunately... My horriblehorrible parent figures say that if we don't arrive for 8am (!) then they will not help me unpack. Which is bad because so far I have:

1 smaller suitcase filled with wine and champagne,
2 boxes of food,
a bag of glasses and mugs,
a basket of kitchen stuff,
laptop and speakers,
and other things but I cannot be bothered with the list anymore. This is hell, but also fun because I'M LEAVING HOME TOMORROW!!! mwhahahaha!

why all the wine and champagne? ((well obviously to drink) - but what made you decide to take a suitcase full?? im sure it will come in handy. me, ive got a wee bottle of tesco value vodka!
to be fair, it's not a huge suitcase and it's just stuff people gave me for my 18th birthday that I would of otherwise felt v stupid drinking (see above for many references to me being alone right now)... so thought I'd share it with my new flatmates and beyond! and, value vodka??? you're taking the student stereotype a bit far now! what is it, window cleaner?
hahaha well i've been drinking it for the past year and its never failed me. £3.92 for a hip flask bottle. and lets be honest, does anyone really care about the difference in taste between that and smirnoff, for example? its all a nasty concoction when mixed up with coke or whatever.

Aaaaaaaaaaaargh so much stuff! I'm going to be laughed at as I am having 2 cars.. yes 2 parents driving over with cars full of stuff. What's wrong with me?! Still not finished packing..
PS - Am loving the fact that manor hall thread is almost always top of the list... we're obviously a sociable bunch!!

hmmm... yes, we are geeks. or desperate humans. freshers week will be fun then, wont it? no one will speak to each other unless through the medium of a keyboard. I've just finished squeezing all my stuff into the car... it is a bit of a tight fit- wish I could find a second one so I can bring more shoes, which I still haven't sorted out (best til last and all that), so will probably end up sitting on some very spiky stilletoes. ouch.
have just finished packing!! woohoo. almost had an emotional breakdown in the middle where i seemed to have too much stuff and not enough room in the car. Managed to fit it in eventually, but im worried now that it won't fit in my room. oh well...24 hours we will be there

(and thats not including leaving a dozen pairs at home, yes i have a problem! ) Oh well, all fellow manor friends are more than welcome to dip and share the shoe wealth!

i managed to wedge all mine into one bag...but i had 2 suitcases full of clothes...one of which i can't even lift. so should be fun carrying that up the stairs :|
how you finding sinclair house? I don't think its that bad...part from the fact it smells a bit musty.
It's still a bit of a hole... with squirrely smelling carpet and other delights! I think you've got it a bit better than flats 11 and 12 which have been shoved around the corner with a really dark staircase and various dangerous items to fall over when you're coming back late from wherever... having lots of fun though- can't belive the pub crawl starts in half an hour- I've had such a manic day and i've only just found enough time to check e-mails, and grab a cereal bar. Madness... Freshers party was quite good wasn't it? Anyone else auditioning for Guys and Dolls tomorrow? x
Manor Hall - Im loving it! 1 west rocks. Shag tag was wicked, freshers party was awesome (shame about the music!-and i got so twatted that i fell of a wall backwards into a dustbin). Went to the vets freshers party but it was crap so ended up at random third year lawyers house who was having a house party - interesting!!! and did not get home until half 5 in the morning! Went to ramshackle last nite and finally found some decent music and had an awesome time.
Although i have only made it to 2 out of the 6 introductory lectures/registration type things this week!
