Evaluating the behaviourist approach to treating psychopathology
-McGrath et al. (1990) found that about 65-70%of people respond to SD.
-Capafons et al. (1998) found that SD was very useful in treating aerophobics and they showed lower levels of anxiety after SD.
-However, some have suggested symptom substitution-that SD only substitutes some symptoms with others.
-However, Langevin (1983) stated that there was no evidence for this.
-Some have suggested that SD is overly complex
-It relies on much input from the client, and their motivation.
-It may not be useful for those traits that are evolutionary.

-Engels et al. (1993) found that REBT was useful in treating a range of phobias.

My god. Today has been insane. I actually feel like I can get an A tomorrow.:woo:

Fair enough
My aim is to make around 20 more posts on here tonight, each with 6 points on the topic, without notes. That'll make me feel ready.

Thank you!

The acute stress response

-Short term stressors involve the sympathomedullary pathway
-The autonomic nervous system is activated
-The SNS and Sympathetic adrenal medullary are activated
-Those two aforementioned components make up the sympathomedullary pathway
-The SNS produces the neurotransmitter noradrenaline, which causes certain changes due to travelling to every organ in the body.
-The SAM stimulates adrenaline release.
-The adrenal medulla is responsible for the release in adrenaline.
-Changes include increase in heart rate, increase in breathing rate, increase in blood pressure, pupils dilating and glycogen being converted into glucose.

Walk in confident, no matter what. Trust me, you feel so much better in the exam :yep:
new thread! :O

So 2 exams down, 5 to go!
I am actually getting my act together with these last and revising properly, not getting distracted easily, using my time well.
From tomorrow its 2 hours each (CHEM5,BIOL5,C4) then 1 hour each of (BIOL4, CHEM4)

Starting 9am -1 am (with breaks). Then 1:30 -5:30, if gyming then will break off earlier and do rest when i get back.

Right back to mindmapping and revision cards for BIOl5 chapter 14. Need to get that done tonight, plus BIOL4 Speciation chapter or no bed!
