I'm going into Year 12 this year and I want to stay on top of my work and revision so when is the best time to start revising for the UCAT? And does anybody know anything about the replacement test for the BMAT?
Hey there, thanks for posting a question in the Medicine forum.
The Medicine forum gets a high volume of questions being posted, and some of these are already answered by the resources and Megathreads that members of the community and volunteers have created. Below is a list of threads and articles that could answer your question (you should be looking in the original post of the megathreads). If one of the below threads is a more relevant place to ask your question, please post a reply in that thread to ask your question. your a bit early mate, dont start prep for UCAT as you'll burn out. most people recommend around 6-8 weeks of prep for UCAT. also nothing has been said yet for the replacement of the BMAT but Leeds have moved onto UCAT

Firstly, do use the threads provided above to find the UCAT threat as it has some amazing advice regarding each section and strategically applying to universities following your result.
In short - I personally think you should concentrate on understanding, revising and making sure your Y12 knowledge is solid throughout the year (as this will help with Y13 and finals revision [and maybe BMAT too]). I would leave the UCAT for summer - spend around 3-4wks of intensive and smart preparation using question banks (one of the few times its worth paying for one) and you should see progress and will be confident!
I hope this helped.😊 Shaheer (3rd yr medical student at Lancaster)
