Should I get my IGCSEs or just finish it off with GED?

So I'm faced with a problem. I dropped out of school last year (I'm 16) and I recently decided that I want to do something about my education. See the thing is if I'm doing my IGCSEs I'll have to cram up 2 years into 1 (I'll be taking the exams in November 2011) . If I do my GED I'll be able to start college next fall but another problem is that I'm moving to the UK in another 2 years and I don't know if they'll accept the GED (if my parents say no to college). So, any advice?

Do you want to go to University when you get here? Neither GED or IGCES are in the UCAS tariff, so it's probable you would need to do A-levels/IB/Level 3 when you get here.
Yes I plan to go to Uni.
Well you will have to A-levels or equivalent here, it is unlikely the GED will be accepted, so you should take IGCSEs as preparation for this.
Okay thank you.
