Maths+Further Maths

Hi everyone
I am doing Maths and FM A-levels this year
By the end of this year I will have C1-4, FP1-3, M1-3, S1-2 books completed
Can someone please explain to me all the possible combinations available for Maths and FM?
I checked the wiki links but I still don't quite get it.
Thanks in advance.

Maths must have C1-C4

further maths must have FP1 and either FP2 or FP3

all others can be switched round  (for OCR btw)
Normal maths possibilities:

C1-4, M1, M2

C1-4 S1, S2

C1-4 M1 S1

from the units you are taking

No this isn't completely correct, you can't count M2 in OCR normal maths without M1 for example.

What exam board?

C1-C4 are compulsory
FP1-FP2 are compulsory

The remaining 6 you can choose but if you want a wide range of module choices, do MEI where you also have options of DE, NM, DC and NC

apologies

off topic but will u be posting the results for FP1 and M1 after the exams?

also from your experience which is a more difficult module FP2 or Fp3 and also Fp2 or S2?

Yes to FP1 but someone might have to get me a paper for M1 as I don't think we have any students sitting it this time.

FP2 is a great module. I have only taught some of FP3 (I haven't taught the groups stuff) but that is nice too. They are of similar difficulty. I don't like stats so have never taught S2 but our students find it perfectly accessible (but a bit dull).

sorry everyone for not clarifying this, my exam board is Edexcel.
Correct me if I'm wrong:
For my a-level maths I can do C1-C4, M1-M2

For FM I can do S1-S2, FP1-FP3, M3

can M3 go to Maths a level and M1 to FM, for example, to get a better result?
and what are the requirements to get an A* in Further Maths?
Thank you everyone

I do Edexcel as well.
I study Pure Math, my modules for this year are C1-C4 along with FP1 and FP2.
So I suppose that those combinations should be fine, not too sure though.
I think the board itself will shift around modules for you to get a good result. The requirement for FM along with FP1-FP3 is three or four additional applied modules.

M3 CANNOT go to your maths a level as it is a further maths module.
As far as I know once you have sat all your modules, the exams boards automatically arrange them into Maths and Further Maths A-Levels such that you get the highest grade possible for both. Apart from that the only restrictions are as others above have said, ie. your core modules must go to maths, and the FPs and any applied module ending in "3" or above (so M3 in your case) going to Further Maths.
D1 and D2 modules are further maths.

Are D1 and D2 further maths modules?

For the Further Maths A-level (and presumably the Additional Further Maths A-level too), the best three A2 units will contribute to the A* grade conditions. This means that of the 6 units in Further Maths, the top 3 A2 units must have a total of over 270 UMS (i.e. an average of over 90%). A2 units for Further Maths are classed as FP2 and above, and all the 2nd applied units and above (i.e. M2, M3, M4, M5, S2, S3, S4, D2, DC, NC, DE). FP1 is classed as an AS unit and therefore wouldn't count towards the 270 UMS required for the A*.
