Hi there Tasha, have you received a definite offer from them or the conditional offer that they have been giving out after interview? I got an offer after my interview (the one based on me having a place if they have it to offer)but haven't received the firm offer yet, have they started sending those letters? I haven’t spoken to the uni since early Jan and wasn't aware they had their numbers yet?

I am doing PGCE Primary with ICT specialist subject........... or at least I hope, having not received that firm offer yet!!!!

All of the offers given out by hope (and all other uni's according to Hope on my interview day) are conditional, as they haven't had the confirmation of the amount of places they have for 2011. When I spoke to the admissions tutor the other week she said letters would be sent out to confirm a firm offer, when they knew how many they had to offer for sure.

I was pretty early myself, put my application in on 11th November, got my interview invite on 15th November and had my interview on 1st December, so hoping the same thing!! Not sure if it matters though, as they are still interviewing people at the moment, so they must still have places to offer. The admissions said they were offering the same amount of places they had in 2010 for 2011, and at the interview they said that with the Ofsted report they got that they were very confident they would get the same amount of places again.

I have read that the allocation will be cut from poorly Ofsted reported Uni's in the first instance, so that sounds good for us....I think :s-smilie:

hey guys - i'm in the same boat as you guys.

Went for my interview back in December for Secondary History and got a conditional offer. I recieved a letter confirming the conditional offer - and they said it would be confirmed in "late January" I think..

So I'm still waiting! It's difficult because it was so happy to get the offer, but knowing it isn't 100% certain leaves me worrying a bit!

On another note, is anyone hoping to live in PGCE Halls from September? I'm wondering whether to go into halls or find a private house share with other PGCE students if they're up for it.

I emailed Hope regarding the accommodation and applications open in April
Hi I'm not doing a PGCE but I'm in my second year at Hope so if you want to know anything about the uni in general I'm your girl :-)
And you might have seen me at your interviews hehe I was sat upstairs in the education building all day :')

Hey! I've also received a conditional offer from Liverpool Hope for a primary PGCE. When I got the letter through from them, it said that all places are conditional upon receipt of such places being confirmed by the teacher training authority. Apparently this information will be available in February!! I hate waiting though!!!! :-(

Hello,

Looks like pgce allocations (primary)have remained the same at Hope.

http://www.tda.gov.uk/training-provider/itt/funding-allocations/~/media/resources/training-provider/funding-allocations/mainstream_itt_allocations_2008-11.pdf

On that assumption if you have been offered a conditional place we should be ok. Just the bursary cuts are a bit of a pain!

Hi.
I have my pgce ict interview at Liverpool hope tomorrow!! Just wondered if anyone could give me some advice on the presentation part of it. I have to do a starter activity on databases for year 7, did anyone have the same? Do you have access to powerpoint as i have prepared a presentation and included the activity!

Thank you
Just thought I would put a note on here for all people waiting to hear from Liverpool Hope about firm offers for the primary PGCE 2011/12.

I spoke to the admissions today and they are sending the letters out to confirm places (she was actually putting letters in envelopes when I called!). So we should all hear from them within the next few days.

Good luck to everyone

Hi

Did they mention whether people already offered places have got them or did she not give any clues? Good luck.

I'm not sure about people still getting interviewed, I only asked about getting conditional offers confirmed now that they have numbers from the TDA. So anyone who has had an offer on the condition of there being a place to offer them will be finding out this week through the post.
I am doing full-time Primary, so I only asked about that course, but I should imagine it will be the same for all other PGCE courses too.
Kristine26, I should imagine you will hear on track before the Uni get in touch. Like Tedgingt my track was updated a few days after the interview (interviewed on Wed, track updated at 7pm on Monday night), but they may be taking a little longer now because they have filled up more of the places; I had my interview at on 05/12/10. Good luck, I hope you both hear very soon

Did they confirm your place on the phone Lucy or did they say you have to wait for the post. Just wondering whether to try calling them. I sent a £40 cheque for my CRB on Tues. I was offered my place in November but I don't know if the places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The waiting is driving me mad.

They didn't say anything over the phone, just that the letters will be out to us this week, so I am still in the dark too, its also driving me mad! Saying that though, I didn't ask if they could tell me over the phone and can't call just now as I am in work.
I sent all my forms (CRB, fitness to teach and some other criminal questionnaire thing) and cheque off on Monday too, so am thinking 'why would they be asking us to fill these forms in and send a cheque, if they weren't planning on offering a place?', or maybe I am being too optimistic!
If you do call them and hear anything, let me know and I will do the same.
Good luck
