Job options for non-honours degree

Hi all, I am going crazy right now trying to figure what I want/what I am able to do with my life!!!!

Due to personal circumstances, I was unable to complete everything that needed to be done in my 2nd year BSc (Hons) Psychology. I was given the opportunity to continue into my 3rd year but just as an ordinary pass degree as in BSc Psychology, and without a classification. I know this means I am unable to apply for grad schemes as they mostly require grads with a 2:1 minimum. However I am really struggling to find out from anywhere, including careers advisors and university staff who can really tell me what I can go into with my degree. I feel like I have now wasted this last year and I should have left last year with a Certificate of higher education and not bothered with what seems like a pointless degree and losing out on a years work experience.

I was hoping there is somebody on here that is in/has been in a similar position to me and can advise me on what options there might be for me.

Thanks
I'm in the same position as you but haven't been able to find any information from anywhere that's clear about options afterwards. I'd love to go on to do a masters to specialist in something, but everything requires honours.

Is there a way to gain the equivalent of honours after university so I can go on to do the things that I want to?

i'm applying to re-take the second year but if that doesn't work out then I really don't know what I can do? Seems a waste to work so hard in 3rd year for an 'ordinary' degree that doesn't appear to have many options.
Re-take second year!

You will often be able to take the credit you have passed during your degree, then transfer this credit to the Open University, then study the number of credits necessary for an honours degree with the OU.

For example, if you pass 300 credits at your current institution you will usually be able to transfer all 300 credits to the OU, then study for the remaining 60 credits with the OU. If successful you will be awarded an Open University honours degree.

I had a look on the OU, but their Psychology course said that only 75 credits could be carried over? Unless I was looking at the wrong thing.. that doesn't sound very promising when I've done 2 years already!

Still looking at other options though, unsuccessfully..

Hello there,

I can understand your situation and I hope you are doing well. Personally, my sister is in a similiar situation as you and she did her degree in biology without Honours. At this stage, she is really struggling to find jobs she wants to pursue. Some of the jobs, she is looking for, they are in a different city. I would strongly, suggest you to re-take the year. I know you might feel as if its been a waste or you want to give up, but remember studying for a degree its never easy. All your efforts will be appriciated. Also , get in contact with the program lead and your personal tutor, they will be a great advise to you. Good luck and you can do it c:

Hi, I am currently in same position as you, I am struggling a lot at the moment, is there way out for me? I failed one of module in 2nd year and continue with 3rd year studies. I did really well in my 3rd year. I dont know what to do? I was thinking of resitting 3rd year at other university and asking if I can do one 2nd year module with the third year at their university. Please can you advise me on this?
