Yup, I did! I was actually quite relieved as I was beginning to wonder when they'd realised they'd sent the original email to the wrong applicant...

I'm in a bit of a predicament about what do to though. My interview's at 1.15pm and I was going to go up the night before so I was fresh in the morning (I'll be coming from London). However, if I stay at a hotel I'll have to check out by like 12pm and therefore take my suitcase to the interview, which I don't really want to do. Alternatively I could stay at my boyfriend's in Aberdeen, but he won't actually be there and I'd have to get all the way from Aberdeen airport -> his house -> the train station -> Dundee -> Ninewells. And then all the way back again to collect my suitcase and fly home.

Help?

depending what hotel you go with, most places will let you keep your suitcases in a room somewhere, you just have to be out your room by 12

Good shout. I found a room with Travelodge for £12 (!) but it explicitly stated on the website that they can't hold luggage. Maybe I'll ring up some others tomorrow and find out if they have storage facilities...

I'm doing this as well, but interview's not til three. If you don't mind spending another £12 you can always book the room for two days?

hmm, well there's a holiday inn right in the centre you could try if they're cheap enough and see what their policy is

You've got a point there! I'm currently looking at Holiday Inn Express which is £36, but two nights in the Travelodge would only be £24. I remember reading somewhere that it's next to a 24 hour casino and a nightclub though, which slightly put me off...

i am indeed.
i dont think there is, but there's a travelodge(or something similar) opposite the train station which is probably the nearest you'll get to ninewells, but its still pretty central so you'd be able to get a bus up there

cheers. once they confirm my booking i'll look at it.

very excited about going to another city all by myself, sort of want aberdeen/st andrews interviews just so I can do it again

i was looking at it though, and there's a couple actually in the city. don't know how where they in relation to transport/ninewells but I reckon anywhere in a city is not going to be very quiet. hope your interview's not on a friday

i don't think it's right next to a casino (mind you up until recently i thought dundee only had one casino...it has more haha) but it is like right above this nice looking bar place....http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2644/4013572551_3ec666962e.jpg the 'to let' bit is now the bar

Lol it is literally right next to the casino...but the Casino isn't that loud unless there are queues outside on Friday/Saturday nights. Nightclubs are directly opposite across a four lane main road but are sound proof and the only noise you would hear would be the drunk folk at the end of a night out!

EDIT - Thought you were talking about the travel lodge, sorry! Don't think holiday n is anywhere near a casino! Is the bar not that new Marco Polo Restuarant? Don't imagine that'll be loud
