The Baltic Partnership
Latvia is pleased to announce the creation of a joint strategic MUN contingent comprising of Baltic Sea Nations. The group will coordinate positions on key policies that are instrumental and important to the region. There will be a rotating Presidency of the Baltic Partnership beginning with Latvia who will pass the baton onto Finland and then to Poland. All Baltic Nations are invited to participate and reserve the right to remain outside the MUN Contingent.

The United Kingdom welcomes the talks. Separated from the Baltic Sea by merely the Jutland Peninsula, the UK would be very interested in becoming an associate/observer nation of this partnership.
As previously stated in the 'Pressure Groups' thread, the Republic of Poland fully supports a Baltic Partnership and hopes that it would allow better communication with its neighbours and for better representation within the MUN. The Republic of Poland also supports the idea of a rotating presidency between the members of the partnership.
Madagascar encourages the unity between nations that this would bring.
The Republic of Finland is pleased to see that the partnership is already on the way and would love to see our brothers and sisters from Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, Russia and Sweden join the partnership.
The Republic of Finland will gladly welcome the United Kingdom as an Observer Nation to the Baltic Partnership.

The Federal Republic of Germany welcomes any opportunity to work with our neighbouring nations to establish peace, prosperity and security. We welcome this move by Latvia and will participate fully in the establishment of such an organisation. The Federal Republic of Germany also supports the move by the United Kingdom to seek observer status
Three Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) have clearly signaled their desire to be outside any claimed sphere of influence including Russia, as is reflected by their joining both the NATO alliance and the European Union in 2004. We would like to remind the House that a deliberated increased tension on the part of a number of Baltic states, with previous partnerships clearly rejected by such states, and with the Commonwealth of Independent States already in place, we are skeptical about the current position and agenda being run here.

Denmark thinks this is a fantastic opportunity to build bridges with our fellow nations in the Baltic/Scandinavian areas. We would be fully supportive of this partnership in order to encourage discussion, policy and friendly relationships. Furthermore, the United Kingdom's inclusion as an observer state is something we'd be fully on board with.

Latvian Presidency of the Baltic Partnership
In response to Russia...
Russia, your position on this matter is strange. The Baltic Partnership is not a 'sphere of influence' it is merely a group of countries that share a Sea that have common and mutual interest within the European family. Russia is duly invited to this partnership, we only aim to discuss key events that affect all of us such as the financial situation of member states and of political events.

Latvia is delighted that Denmark has accepted the invitation to join the Partnership. Latvia looks forward working with Denmark on a range of issues.
To The U.K
Latvia once again welcomes you to the Partnership and looks forward to hearing your thoughts on a whole host of issues and look forward in particular to Britain's view on closer European fiscal coordination.

Norway encourages this display of unity amongst the nations involved and believes talks to be a superb method of partnership. Norway also asks whether the partnership would consider a similar role for a delegate from our nation to that of the United Kingdom, as we too are separated by very little from these baltic nations?

The Republic of Finland has displayed her displeasure with the USA in the handling of Palestine's admission to the UN and fully supports a Palestinian state and an Israeli state that can live in peace as neighbours.

Do you want to put together a resolution for this? I think it would be in character. Looks like you'll have plenty of support for it.
If you submit a resolution on this it can become official.
The Baltic Partnership current comprising of 7 member states bordering the Baltic Sea under the Presidency of Latvia hereby support the submission of Palestine to the United Nations if not as a full member state but as a speaking participant in the GA with full responsibility. Latvia and Finland support the creation of a Palestinian state comprising of the pre-1967 borders and the removal of illegal Israeli settlements. Latvia and Finland believe that this would lead to peace in the region and lead to further cooperation in the Middle East.
As Chairman of the Partnership I call on Members and Associate Members to vote for or against the proposal... the end of which will result on an application to the General Assembly.
