What's the problem in that case? You've been UF for 5 days. Be patient.

Your accommodation offer will be on your EUCLID thing which you will have been sent information on in the post. That's got nothing to do with knowing your matric number.

If you've only just met your offer through A levels you won't have a matric number yet. You'll get this when you get information about signing up for MyEd.

Thanks, oh and (haven't been able to get this information anywhere else) can I stay/leave stuff in a self-catered flat if I need to over the holidays?

Yes. You have the flat for the entirety of the lease, including holidays.
I've just found out that the accommodation offer I was given was a mistake and withdrawn. So, i'm now waiting for another offer. Is anyone else still waiting on an offer? I'm getting a bit worried now :s-smilie:

The majority of people who became UF on Thursday last week will still be waiting. Its really really early at the moment - I'm amazed they're doing it this fast as normally its been the week before you move to Edinburgh/when you actually arrive in Edinburgh.

Oh I see, thank you. I was just becoming a bit panicky as quite a few others already seem to have been allocated. But, you've calmed my nerves :L

Sorry, Im so late on all of this. I got my accommodation pretty much the day after my results came through. College Wynd anyone?? I dont think i really did sufficient research into what accommodation is the best but hopefully it's good
Yay, got an offer for Holland House.
Hi, I'm in need of a little bit of help and information - When I sign into my myed account it has the 'outstanding invoices' section which states the full amount for accommodation charges due for the 15th of September 2012, I thought it would come up as monthly invoices due to the fact that we said that we were going to pay monthly by direct debit?

Mine said that initially but after about a week it sorted itself out.

Thank you, I hope it sorts itself out!
I just got my accommodation offer. However, it wasn't what I wanted. I initially applied for catered accommodation in June but I was given self catered at Beaverbank because they claim spaces have run out in catered accommodation. I am quite disappointed... :frown:

Help I missed the deadline for accommodation what should I do and do I have any chance of getting an offer for accommodation?
I'm from Edinburgh and I applied for catered accommodation this year. I'm from a LEAPS Category 1 school which means that my school is one of the worst performing school in the city/country and for that reason to help students get into further education etc accommodation by the University of Edinburgh is assured.

I called up and they said that there was no space in the catered accommodation and that they could either give me a place in Beaverbank place or put me on the waiting list. I chose the waiting list option. However, I'm worried that there won't be any places after all even though I'm on the waiting list and then there may not be place in Beaverbank (although I should be assured a place somewhere nevertheless). I really don't want to go to Beaverbank because I'm worried about not being catered for, the distance from George Square and also the lack of socialising allowed at Pollock Halls.

Advice please!

Well you'll have to cook for yourself eventually, so I don't see why the catered-element is that important. As for socialising, Pollock is no better or worse than self-catered sites, if I'm honest.
I received an email from the Accommodation Services that said the following
Dear Student

The University of Edinburgh has been extremely successful in attracting new Undergraduates this year but this has created a significant excess of demand over the normally available supply of accommodation. This has meant that we have been unable to allocate all students within the timescales we had initially given.

And this is the reason we have so far been unable to make you an offer of accommodation. However, it remains our intention to do so and it may well be that you will still receive such an offer over the next few days and before you leave for Edinburgh. When you do receive such an offer, it is very important to recognise this will be the only option we have available for you and we would ask that you urgently confirm your acceptance through our on-line contract process.

I was never expecting to get one of my choices, but does this mean that I might get catered instead of self-catered? Because I won't be able to afford it. But if it just means I'll get my accommodation right before I arrive, that's okay.

I just received the same email a few hours ago after calling up Edinburgh today as I had not heard from them since my offer turned unconditional on A-level results day last week. However, my 3 choices were in Pollock Halls (catered accommodation) and the university has now said that all of Pollock Halls is full and so I will be put in any spare self-catered accommodation. I can't even take pots and pans with me as I am flying up from London!
Not a happy bunny :frown:
