Jimmy did you apply for PGCE Psychology last year? I seem to remember you. I was accepted into Edgehill who then folded and I've just been accepted into Bradford College to do Citizenship; Yay!!

Any advice you can offer me about the course?

Ta!

Yeah I applied for Social Sciences at Keele who also folded on the course. Decided to defect to Citizenship at Leicester.
In terms of advice for the course, make sure that you get your subject knowledge up to a respectable standard in several subjects, when it becomes clear what you will be teaching (RS, Humanities, GovPol, Sociology ect.). Also, get organized! Nothing helps you to meet your standards, get through the paperwork ect, like being on top of everything. When you're on placement leave yourself at least one free evening a week, to help minimize stress levels.

Many of my fellow PGCE colleagues have already secured jobs (over half of us, and it is extremely early!), and schools seem to like the Citizenship specialism too; don't let anyone tell you you're unemployable because you're a citizenship educator, especially since it will remain on the NC at KS3/4 indefinitely.

Best of luck!

Hi guys,

I've applied for a PGCE in Bradford College for this September but I only applied last Friday (24th May). Does anyone have any idea how long they take to decide whether or not to interview?

Thanks
Hello Jimmy, this thread is a bit old but hoping you'll still be able to reply. I've been offered a place on the PGCE citizenship course at Leicester and Bristol for September 2014 and can't decide which one to choose! What was your experience at Leicester?

Any help much appreciated!!

Thanks.
