What is the pass mark for standard grade credit english close reading?

I would like to know at an average, what % Marks are usually Grade 1's and 2's. I don't think there is a specific cut-off mark, but i would like to know, in general, what % one would normally need to get a Grade 1 and 2.

Usually it is...

Grade 1 - 75% and above
Grade 2 - 50 - 74%

But the SQA may lower the cut off point if the paper is done really badly by a lot of people.

In 2011 the mark for a grade 1 was 34/50
and in 2010 the mark for a grade 1 was 37/50.
The difficulty of the paper determines the mark needed for a 1.
