What is it to get a C?

For these particular papers i would say a C grade would lie around 80/200
so around 40 in each paper

Remember this is only an estimate, this may or may not be the case when the grade boundaries are decided.

If 90 is a B, do you think the boundary for a C will still remain as 56?

It will remain, or go down.

Unlikely, way too high. I would probably say the boundary for a C would be 60 or lower.

Nooooooo no way. 40% has been a low/mid B normally!

No way. Please don't estimate from how you personally found it!

Sorry! I apologize, i'm most probably wrong, i estimated from how I found it so please don't take my word for it

i presume this is out of 200... it really depends on how the country did, however the fact that its a new spec may turn about to be a good thing because people are not used to it. Compare the papers with 56 as the boundary with how you think you did on the real papers...

I think they will be similar but lower as you say no has that much experience in this new spec and then it will steadily increase every year as theres more past papers available. i think it will be around 112-1120 for an A and an A* around 134-152.

Original post by hello my name is
but in gcse isnt it 80 % an a*

85%, so that equates to 170, BUT this is very general, grade boundaries are specific to that years paper, there is no 'official' boundary.
Like i said earlier, it could change, maybe go down to 80%, which in effect would make your proposed mark of 160, and A* LETS HOPE FOR LOW BOUNDARIES!!!!
i think just what i think .
non cal : out of 100
A*-67-73
A-60-65
B-53-60
C-38-48

I don't know but thats what i think might be. only my view it is defo not correct as papers have not been marked
LETS HOPE FOR LOW BOUNDARIES!!!!

in march out of 200 you needed 158 to get A* and 124 for A so maybe it will be lower hopefully.

He is a well respected contributer to the Maths Forum on TSR, and he is also a teacher of Maths too. So yes, I'd say his answers are going to be correct.
