It's always been my dream to study History, though it's very competitive so I'm also considering Classics or Theology (which I also love). But to be honest, History is my favourite subject and my passion (if you can call it that, which I think it is) so I'll probably apply to do that at King's College, Cambridge!

Yourself?
History is a great subject. It is pretty competitive but just work hard and give in all your effort and you will surely make it! You seem like you're willing to work hard to acheive what you want afterall.

I want to study either Physics or Aerospace Engineering. (I love both) So far I'm leaning more on Aerospace Engineering though.
A sudden silence has descended upon the thread... :ninja:

Thanks!

Once I'm in Sixth Form, I'm going to give it loads of effort and definitely try to get all 7s in my higher subjects and get predicted at least 40 points. All the best of luck, and hopefully I'll see you in Cambridge!

Which Cambridge College would you apply to, or would you just make an open application?

If you want a better idea of my kind of music, check out my last.fm profile - http://bit.ly/rceAsb

Mmmm, some very nice stuff here. I think we'll get on just fine!
I don't really want to go to Cambridge tbh. Mainly because their medicine course is a year longer than most other medicine course's. Of course, if I change my mind and decide to go into something like maths or chemistry, then I'll probably decide to go for Cambridge  And besides, lets face it, I'll have very little chance of actually getting into Cambridge

Didn't realise you were a future medic..

And I doubt that, you're already self teaching AS maths and no doubt are predicted good GCSEs.

Someone from our school got into Cam for medicine last year, and according to him the EPQ can be very helpful. Also, for work experience apparently it's good to start looking in Y12 for work in voluntary care (e.g elderly homes) and then also get relevant hospital/GP experience etc.

Work hard and I'm sure it's within reach

What A-Levels are you taking by the way?

:gasp: Say what now?
You've basically just outlined my indecision about the future: medicine, maths or nat. sci! (Although i think medicine at Cambridge would be awesome )

Although i should have seen that coming: almost everyone on TSR is either an aspiring medic or mathematician

Haha yeah, I want to try to become a medic

Thanks, but loads of people are way better than I am

Ah I see, thanks

I'm taking biology, physics, chemistry, maths and further maths  You?

Yep, I'd say Medicine, Maths, Dentistry, Economics and Law makes up 90% of TSR's career ambitions

Nothing wrong with that though, I suppose people on here are just.. highly ambitious? :curious:

Yup! we are indeed, although there are some people on other threads who are more... arrogant than ambitious (not going to name any names )
To be fair, we all spend a considerable amount of time on TSR either 'crasting or researching future careers, so there is going to be a naturally high calibre of people on here (who are quite comitted). You guys are all my UCAS competition! :colone:

Good, the key to doing well in the IB is effort and an organized time table (never procrastinate). I'll also have to work hard as I'm also aiming for 40-45 points.

I would just make an open application and yeah hopefully we do get accepted! (I'm sure you will )
I must be like the only one who isn't aiming for Oxford or Cambridge! Most probably because unlike the majority of you, I have as much hope as...well...nothing!

I'm not aiming for them either  I want to go into medicine which is hard enough on its own :yep:

Nice, another to-be IBer!

I'm aiming for 40 points, too (the equivalent of more than 4A*s at A-Level - 611 UCAS points). Hard, hard work ahead.
