Those who have like 50k+ debt, realistically most will not end up paying anywhere near that much back though...

Edit: Neg for being honest?

Did you pay the tuition fees up-front and apply for the maintenance loan?

Haven't started uni yet but mine should be:

9 000 x 3 = 27 000
4 711 x 1 = 4 711

31 711 so far...

plus whatever else 2 years of rent in a shared house will cost...

Definitely, that's the good part. I wonder how much I will end up paying back overall, it's too early to tell though.

I'm a graduate and it's about 20 - 25k, I think. None of this is from tuition fees as I began in 2004 when fees were about 1.25k and either my parents paid for them or, once I reached 25 and was an independent student, I received a grant covering all fees.

I did repeat two years and did my final year part time so this is why it's "high" relative to many who started at this time and graduated with 12 - 18k debt.

Correct me if i'm wrong but doesn't the scottish goverment heavily subside the fees?

Obviously depends on how much you end up earning, but I've read numerous places that it will be around the 20k mark for the average graduate.

£3,000.
Started uni in 2010 and just starting my final year this month.

Tuition fees are: £3,290 a year

x 3 years = £9,870

No Maintenance Loans etc. + am entitled to full maintenance grant and bursary from university which results in a net profit of £2,100. Effectively, I am being paid to go to university and have saved the money to pay off my tuition fees immediately after I graduate.

It sounds like you're getting a really good deal in Aberdeen. How is the maintenance fee needed to live in Aberdeen?

(£9000 + £4800) * 4 = >£55000, which is worrying - not to mention any interest accrued.

Tuition £9000 x 4 = £36000
Loans £3575 x 4 = £14300
Accomodation £4100 x 4 = £16400

= £66700

UGH

I think we get it paid year 5 onwards. So that includes years 5 and 6. Don't quote me on that though, im not too sure.
I have the loan for 3 years so £27, 000. I'm going to be surviving without a maintenance loan.
