Does anyone know anything about Kent university?
I am looking at studying business management at Kent but it is taught at the Medway campus, is this a bad thing?
It seems to me that the main campus is Canterbury and most things go on their.
Does anyone know anything about the Medway campus?

Thanks

I study Pharmacy at the Medway campus, what do you want to know? Freshers, nightlife, facilities, accommodation? anything in particular?

Yeh mainly nightlife, and things going on, I believe that Canterbury is the main one and that Medway is a small town isn't it? So I wasn't sure if there would be much going on around there?

Thank you!

Canterbury is better, apparently Medway isnt as good
Most of the societies and sports clubs etc. are based on the Canterbury campus, yes, which is much bigger and is where most courses are taught. However, they're currently trialling a minibus system between the two campuses, running on the hour, every hour between 8am and midnight, meaning that you can travel easily (and for free!) to the Canterbury campus to join societies there/go out in Canterbury if you wanted, although obviously finishing at midnight perhaps rules out clubbing.

I'm afraid I don't really know anything about the Medway campus, but if you've got any questions about anything in Canterbury, then I'm happy to help.
If your course is on the Medway campus then I strongly recommend you stay at Liberty Quays if you're a first year

It's not worth staying at Canterbury, it would be very difficult to get up at like 6am every time you have 9am lectures

As for the nightlife, it's alright actually. On mondays everyone goes to Tap n Tin, wednesdays is usually Source bar, thursdays is usually Casino Rooms. There's also Beluga bar and Bliss. Also every now and then there is a special event where almost everyone goes to. Last week it was the UV paint party at Krystals and it was immensely successful. There's also trips to London and Canterbury.

The downside is that obviously the area it's in is not that big. I recommend you choose universities which are ranked higher than Kent for Business. However, the Business school at Kent is ranked quite highly. It was ranked 5th in terms of job prospects for Business graduates and is in the top 20 business schools in the UK. So if you have to come to Kent, then there are still plenty of positives.

Anything else you want to know?
