January 2003 M1 Mark Scheme Help

I apologise if this is in the wrong forum but it is my first post,

In the January 2003 edexcel mark Q7 there is (*) next to the answer. Does this mean the question is wrong? As I have worked out the question from where the ball is meant to leave from however the answer is from the ground.

Help would be greatly appreciated on this one.

The * in the MS just indicates to the marker that the answer is printed on the paper. There's nothing wrong with the question or answer. Did you read it correctly? The ball reaches a height that is 25.6 m higher than the point it was projected from (A) not 25.6 m above the ground. so s=25.6, v=0, g=-9.8
