I think someone posted a few pages back that it was £45k a year for clinical years

I wouldn't even be in this thread if it was that high! Where do they come up with these numbers

I think the average fee in universities for us internationals is 20,000 ~ 25,000 (with living costs + airplane tickets this figure could go in to the 30s though )

PreClinical -
Scotland/EU: 1820
UK: 9000
International: 23500

Clinical -
Scotland/EU: 1820
UK: 9000
International: 23500

So I guess the numbers stay the same!

I don't think I'd bother coming to the UK to study - that is CRAZY.

It does beg the question why Edinburgh need to charge so much more than everywhere else

It's like 110 places for Scot/EU and 80 for rUK. But, there are much more Scot/EU applicants

Anyone know how many of those 110 places typically go to Scots and how many typically go to people from the rest of the EU?

I was hoping I'd have an advantage applying from Scotland :frown:

I don't think very many - out of our whole year, I think I only know one person from the EU. There's probably a few more but if you really want to know exact numbers I guess you could ask admissions?
So firstly there are only 17 seats and paying that kind of money, all i would have left in life would be a degree. (considering I get in)
THE WAIT IS EXCRUCIATING

The website says they received 715 non-EU overseas applications for 17 places this year. I think they'll end up taking many more than 17 though, as they seem to exceed the quota every year.

For 2012 entry, the website stated their quota would be 15 overseas non-EU places, but they actually gave out 54 offers and ended up with 37 acceptances from Internationals.

http://www.ed.ac.uk/polopoly_fs/1.104225!/fileManager/2012%20for%20web.pdf

There were 2150 Scot/ RUK/ EU applications for 190 places for 2014 entry.

According to last year's thread the first offers went out on Monday March 4th late afternoon, so that would mean today if it's the same timelines

LOL at this rate even if I do get in (with what little chances there are) I won't be able to afford it anyway :P do you know if they made this decision after october? Are they allowed to change fees after students have applied? because I sure as well don't remember it being that high when looking at their website in September.
