videos are good for case studies and things but in general they don't work for me, but if you want videos you ould try searching for some bbc horizon documentary or bbc this world programs they are good. there is one on population on iplayer at the moment, it may be a bit high for gcse but it ould help you understand some aspects of the topic

You could use online journals; you can find them if you go onto google scholar ( http://scholar.google.co.uk/schhp?hl=en-GB )
they are shorter and often easier to read than long book chapters.
