Bsc Economics & Finance vs Big 4 School Leaver

Going to try and keep this short and sweet :biggrin:

I have a dilemma......

I have an offer to study econ and finance at York but I also have a job offer from Deloitte for their bright start scheme in FS audit.

members of my distant family, who are relatively big cheeses in banking, recommend university because they see it as a pre-requisite for a solid career whilst the head of executive recruitment at Aviva thought the big 4 offer was too good to turn down. :confused:

Furthermore, I have a summer internship at HSBC this summer and if I'm successful they say they will offer me an internship for the following year after my first year at university.

Lastly, I don't see my long-term future in accounting but I know exit-opps out of the big 4 are good but I'm not sure they will still apply to me if I don't have a degree. Also, some people may suggest I defer and try the job for a year but if I quit the job before my training contract finishes I would be subject to additional charges.

Any help would be much appreciated
