Laptop for geographers?
I am about to start my BA Geography course in September and i was wondering whether we would need a specific OS on our laptops to install a specific software that geographers use.
For example would we need to have a Windows OS laptop to complete GIS on? Otherwise i'm thinking of getting a MacBook.

The main software that geography courses usually use are SPSS and Arcmap (GIS), alongside the usual microsoft installments. So if you just ensure that you can install those softwares if necessary, I think you should be fine. However, it may be easier just to use them on uni computers.
