Gadgets for your Uni Room?

Just wondering what gadgets you'd all recommend for taking to University.

I don't mean laptops or printers either, I mean more along the lines of for leisure/lifestyle rather than essentials for University work.

- Alarm Clock/Radio
- Shower Radio
- Lava Lamp
- Mini Fridge

What else can you think of?

lol shower radio
I don't know about the showers you have, but I've had to different en suites and in either it would have been likely that the radio would have been knocked out of its position and onto the floor
speakers
decently sized monitor

If you're staying in university accommodation I'd check in the contract as most won't allow a mini fridge, and maybe not the lava lamp either.

I like that idea even though I'm not a basketball fan!
I took:
Radio
Lamp
Phone
Laptop
iPod

... And that was about it.

As someone else said, mini fridges and lava lamps are very often banned, so check your contract

In most University accommodation both of the items in bold would be against the rules put in place by the University, which you agree to as part of the contract you sign.
Why the hell would a ****ing lava lamp be against the rules?!

Anyway, for me it's gonna be PS3, maybe a DJ mixer if I buy one, decent headphones (when I get them, trust me, I'm planning this ****) and my desktop PC.

Laptop, Desktop and associated peripherals (and/or), Sennheiser Headset, Earphones, Mobile Phone, maybe iPod.
I swear lamps are usually provided, no?

I didn't have one in halls. It depends where you go - some probably do and others won't.
I'm sharing my private flat with a few Russians so I have a special box which streams Russian TV (with of course a subscription which we all pay for equally).
Lamp maybe, my 3DS cause i'm a 10 year old nerd, iPod, iPad, B&W speakers, in ears and maybe some over ear headphones if I buy any. Laptop of course, think that's really it.
The less you have in your room, the better.

If you're not studying you should be out being social, not sitting in your room like a loser.
I'll be taking speakers, lamp, and a nutribullet blender
