Ingrown hair or herpes

A few days ago I found a single raised spot on my vagina lip, it looked like it was full of pus and felt like a pimple, my lip was swollen too, but this may have been because I had been feeling I (sorry to be too graphic). Anyway, yesterday I - perhaps stupidly - shaved 'down there again'. Today I have woken up and its no longer a spot but more of a sore. I'm not sure whether I caught it with the razor yesterday which irritated it, I then spent the entire day shopping which would have irritated it more. But I'm scared that its something more sinister. I slept with a guy 2 weeks ago, he used a condom, but I've heard all you need to catch herpes is skin-on-skin contact. Has anyone had anything like this before? I've got an appointment at the GUM clinic on Friday just to get checked out for sure but in the mean time I would really appreciate assistance! I'm going out of my mind!
