I was already ill about three days after I moved in and had a cold/headache/sore throat on and off throughout first term. Then had Bronchitis over Christmas 
The only term I was "healthy" was the last one 
A combination of my terrible immune system, staying up all night talking to my flatmates, drinking, not eating properly and generally just being around hundreds of new people!

I am going to get the flu jab this year and next year because of the course I wan't do do o can't afford to get ill

Freshers flu is more of a cold than a 'flu. By all means get vaccinated but it might not prevent you getting freshers flu.
