Help understanding GCSE AQA additional science grade boundaries?

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me understand the aqa additional science grade boundaries and UMS system? I have recently received my result for additional science and I am disappointed with my result of a B and considering getting one or more of the papers re-marked. Here are the results I received in the break down of the individual marks:

Chemistry: 80 ( mark equivalent A)
Physics: 80 (mark equivalent A)
Biology: 79 ( mark equivalent B)
unit 4 controlled assessment: 80 ( mark equivalent a)

my total mark was 319 which equated to a B.

I am finding hard to understand that with three As and one B how the overall mark is rounded down to a B? Is this due to my misunderstanding of the grade boundary system?

Also is it worth getting the biology paper remarked if I am 1 ums point away or do I need to get all of them re-marked?

Thank you

Did you end up getting them re-marked?

Hi,

Not sure if its changed, not that it should, but 90% of the total UMS is A* and 80% is an A. The total you can get for science is 400 therefore 360 ums is an A* and 320 is an A. You are one of an A* so i highly reccommend you remark the one you did the best in- bear in mind that you may loose marks too!

Best of luck
