I have noticed some things written in the textbook are not included in the specification, do i only revise what is in the specification?

The specification is just an outline I would revise it; it can't do any harm.

Yes also look at past papers

There is nothing wrong in learning something out of the specification... last year believe it or not, in a biology exam we were told about something related to milk! (I can't remember properly)
We weren't told "Learn about milk, what is it made up of etc "
