'Gatsby's experiences in New York prove that the "American Dream" is truly an impossible dream to achieve during this era' How far do you agree with this statement?

I'm really stuck on this question, what scenes do people suggest I look at?
I know why it's seen as a failing dream but why might it not be a failing dream??

The opening of chapter two is a good start and also look at Wilson, he's a very good metaphor.
