Confused about birth control

I've been on the pill for over a year now and I'm just a little confused about how it works? If I start my new pack on the 17th how long do I have to wait until I can have unprotected sex? I know its 7days but is that just for when you first start the pill completely or not?

just when you first start normally unless you miss any doses that is and assuming you re taking a combined type of pill?

I belive it is combined, im on gedarel, i thought there was a certain period where you had to wait for the pill to 'kick in'?

Just wear a condom, so much easier and no diseases

Nope as long as you take it on the day you should after your break ie never leave more than 7 days then you re protected.
